Cornerstone is a vibrant city-wide evangelical church that welcomes over 600 people of different nationalities each week. Our congregation is made up of many families, young professionals, and a large international student population. At our Sunday services, you will be welcomed by warm and loving people and have the opportunity to worship God through praise, learning and reflection. Our greatest mission is to love God with all of who we are, compassionately serve others, and spread the wonderful news of the hope we have in Jesus.
Cornerstone is a dynamic, active church, hosting weekly ministry opportunities for all ages. These include house groups and prayer groups, pastoral teams, and a thriving children’s and youth programme. Whether you are a committed Christian or just enquiring about the Christian faith, you are very welcome to attend our services.
Cornerstone Church derives its name from 1 Peter 2: 4-10, which teaches that, as Christians, we are living stones being built into a spiritual house - the church - of which Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone.
We are an evangelical church with attendees from many denominational backgrounds united in our evangelical convictions and priorities. We are a large, loving family of people who are committed to God and one another.
Teaching and preaching God’s Word is central to our church ministry. We meet twice each Sunday (10:30am & 6.30pm) to worship, learn and encourage one another.
Children and youth are a valued part of our church congregation. For our young children, we run a dynamic crèche and ‘Bible Workshops’ programme every Sunday during the morning service. There is also a programme for the youth. Please see the children and youth pages for further information.
Many of our congregation meet throughout the week through local house groups, prayer groups, church lunches, and outreach events.
If you are a student from a local university, you will find a large community of students who worship and serve here. Our ‘After Hours’ programme on Sunday evenings is a popular way for students to spend time together. International students quickly develop new friendships through our Friends International ministry and similar programmes offered between a network of local churches.
Beyond church walls, we support various local outreach ministries that serve those who struggle with addictions, depression and economic hardship.
Additionally, we support over 15 International Workers engaged in full-time work serving God and others in Africa, Asia and beyond.
This is just a glimpse of what makes Cornerstone unique. Please feel welcome to attend a Sunday service. We would love to get to know you.
