On Tuesday 8th November, we held a ground-breaking ceremony on the site to officially mark the beginning of the construction phase of the project. At the ceremony, Peter reminded us, 'we are building for a hundred years of gospel ministry because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and for ever.' The site has already been transformed with the arrival of site cabins and machinery and demolition is already well underway. A decision on the application was deferred due to concerns expressed by council members over the design of the auditorium section of the building in particular. We are currently looking at how we can revise the designs to address comments from the committee, with a view to re-presenting the design for approval at a future meeting. Please continue to pray for these ongoing design discussions and for wisdom to know how to proceed with the project over the coming weeks. In October, the funds available in the Building Fund passed £500,000. This means that we have raised over £3.25 million since the project was launched in April 2008.
