CHURCH LIFE

House Groups | International Mission | Children | Youth | Students | International Students | Ministries

Cornerstone is today a church of over 600 adults and children with around 20 missionaries and a home team of full-time permanent staff and apprentices. There are over twenty house groups, numerous organisations: for international scholars and their wives, mums’ fellowships, a luncheon club for the elderly and a variety of children’s and youth groups.

We have a flourishing international ministry most notably to mainland Chinese scholars and to Iranian and Afghanis (on a Sunday morning after the first part of the service there is a Persian meeting which runs concurrently with the sermon). There are about 30 nations represented in the church as a whole.

Our ministry to generations of students have made it a church which helps to prepare many for service in churches throughout the country including church leadership at all levels. With a constant through-put of strongly-motivated students we have seen a steady stream of missionaries going to other parts of the globe.

Our youth and children’s ministries are being outstandingly well-served and developed by Peter Brown (youth minister) and Amanda Smart-Gosrani (children’s worker) and it has seen, in these years, the numbers grow very large of enthusiastic children and seriously-discipled teenagers.

For over twenty years a succession of Cornerstone people have been involved in the ‘soup run’ to the homeless on the streets of Nottingham and most recently in the Saturday Night ‘Rally’. A more recent venture has been our involvement with Aspire Mentoring especially The Jericho Road project.
