The children and young people are an important part of our Church family at Cornerstone and we aim to provide for them from birth until whenever the time is right for them to join in with the main church service.
Cornerstone has an extensive ministry to children and young people, with over 170 children and youth involved in Sunday and midweek groups. On Sunday mornings there are many different groups which meet to meet the needs of the children and young people.
Cornerstone Church has a child protection policy based upon a model by the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS). All of our children’s and youth workers are required to have undertaken child protection training and have been police checked.
We provide three creches on a Sunday morning which are open from 10.15am. Broadly speaking these are for 0-1s, 1-2s and 2-3s and are called Baby Creche, Mini Tots and Toddlers respectively.
Once a month we have a special time of praise for children aged 3-7 and their parents. It is a great time of interacting with each other and encouraging children to praise God in their own unique way.
On the first and third Sundays children aged 5-11 participate in Children's Praise - an age-appropriate singing and praise service for children. This is an alternative to the main-service and runs from 10.30am until approximately 11.05am. Children's Praise involves singing, prayer, games, drama and lots more!
This is the name we give to our children’s work on a Sunday morning. The children leave the main service soon after 11am and follow their own exciting programme. There is one group per school year group and each group has its own dedicated team of volunteers.
Ignite (alternate Fridays 6-7.15pm) is all about Fun, Friendship and Finding out more about God. It’s a great place for letting off unspent energy, getting creative and spending time with friends.
